Belton, Texas – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is proud to announce that alumnus Dr. Brandon Skaggs (‘03) has been hired as Director of Alumni Relations. Brandon holds an MBA in Finance and Management from Tarleton State University, an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, and has more than nine years of experience in Christian higher education.
Brandon has previously served as Associate Vice President for Student Development & Dean of Students at Oklahoma Baptist University. Prior to that he served in various roles at Dallas Baptist University, including Director of Admissions and Recruitment, International Recruiter, Graduate Advisor, and Assistant to the Vice President and Dean of the Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership.
For the past seven years, Brandon has studied, written, and presented in the area of alumni and donor engagement, with special attention on millennial generation alumni. He completed his dissertation in May of 2015 which is entitled, “Defining Engagement: Understanding the Relationship between Young Alumni and their Alma Mater at a Private Religiously-Affiliated University.”
From 2010-2013, Skaggs served as the inaugural president of the Young Alumni Board at 鶹Ƶֱ. While a student at the university, he was involved in Welcome Week, Student Government Association, Student Body President, Campus Activity Board, Stunt Night, and Crusader Knights.
