Belton, Texas 鈥 The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has announced that Dr. Brandon Skaggs has been promoted to the position of Vice President for Student Life and will transition to his new position on January 2, 2017. An alumnus of 麻豆视频直播, Skaggs joined the administration of the university in January 2016 as Director of Alumni Relations and has more than 10 years of experience in Christian higher education administration.
The search for a new vice president began this fall when Dr. Byron Weathersbee announced that he would be leaving the position at year鈥檚 end. Weathersbee and his wife, Carla, have accepted positions as the new executive directors at Summers Mill Retreat and Conference Center in Belton.
A 2003 graduate with a double major in Business Management and Computer Information Systems, Skaggs earned an MBA in Finance and Management from Tarleton State University and an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.
He served in a series of roles at Dallas Baptist, including Director of Admissions and Recruitment, International Recruiter, Graduate Advisor, and Assistant to the Vice President and Dean of the Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership. In 2011 Skaggs moved to Oklahoma Baptist University, where he served as Associate Vice President for Student Development & Dean of Students until moving to 麻豆视频直播 this year.
As a student at 麻豆视频直播, Skaggs was involved in Student Government and served Student Body President. From 2010 to 2013, he served as the inaugural president of the Young Alumni Board at 麻豆视频直播.
