BELTON, Texas鈥擳he University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (麻豆视频直播) will present an exciting collaboration between the art and music departments. This Friday, Nov. 12, students from the watercolor painting class will showcase a series of 12 art pieces that correspond with each song performed by One Voice that night at 7:30 pm in concert. The concert is free and open to the public in the Baugh Performance Hall in the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center.
"This collaboration between One Voice and our watercolor students provides the opportunity to think creatively and share inspiration across the arts while strengthening the bond that exists between artists of all genres," explained Barbara Fontaine-White, 麻豆视频直播 professor.
The artwork is on display today, Wednesday, Nov.10 through Friday, Nov. 12, in the lobby of the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center. Artwork sales will be cash only. A flat fee of $50 will be charged for each piece of art, with half of the proceeds, or $25, going towards Kids Against Hunger.
"We always enjoy the opportunity to collaborate across artistic disciplines. Engaging audiences in a multi-sensory experience opens the door to more memorable, impactful experiences," said Dr. Kathryn Fouse, dean of 麻豆视频直播's College of Visual and Performing Arts. "This particular collaboration between One Voice and our art students offers the additional opportunity to support the worthwhile humanitarian organization Kids Against Hunger through purchasing artwork created for this event. I am proud of our faculty and our students for seeking tangible ways to use our artistic gifts to serve others."
