BELTON, Texas 鈥 In celebration of Black History Month, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (麻豆视频直播) is excited to host a special production this week. The gospel stage play by KZAmore Enterprises, a faith-based company, titled "Mama's Daughters" is coming to the Baugh Performance Hall in the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The gospel stage play is written by Dr. Kerry-Ann Zamore-Byrd, a social work professor at 麻豆视频直播. "Mama鈥檚 Daughters is an original piece that explains the complexity of family relationships,鈥 explained Zamore-Byrd. 鈥淚t stars many special guests the audience is sure to love.鈥
The story explores the relationship between a mother and her daughters as she struggles to cope with her failing health. Her daughters discover hidden family secrets that give them a deeper understanding and love for family.
Gospel recording artist Tasha Page-Lockhart, as seen in Tyler Perry鈥檚 鈥淢adea on the Run鈥 and Winner of Sunday鈥檚 Best, plays the role of Sophie, one of the daughters. The production also features gospel sensation Lisa Page Brooks, Tasha Page-Lockhart鈥檚 biological mother, and local radio personalities Stewy Hype, Monique Barsh, and Lady T.
General admission tickets are $30 each, and admission is $20 for 麻豆视频直播 students, employees, and alumni with a valid CruCard or Alumni card.
