BELTON, Texas 鈥� In celebration of Black History Month, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (麻豆视频直播) is excited to host a special production this week. The gospel stage play by KZAmore Enterprises, a faith-based company, titled "Mama's Daughters" is coming to the Baugh Performance Hall in the Sue & Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
The gospel stage play is written by Dr. Kerry-Ann Zamore-Byrd, a social work professor at 麻豆视频直播. "Mama鈥檚 Daughters is an original piece that explains the complexity of family relationships,鈥� explained Zamore-Byrd. 鈥淚t stars many special guests the audience is sure to love.鈥�
The story explores the relationship between a mother and her daughters as she struggles to cope with her failing health. Her daughters discover hidden family secrets that give them a deeper understanding and love for family.
Gospel recording artist Tasha Page-Lockhart, as seen in Tyler Perry鈥檚 鈥淢adea on the Run鈥� and Winner of Sunday鈥檚 Best, plays the role of Sophie, one of the daughters. The production also features gospel sensation Lisa Page Brooks, Tasha Page-Lockhart鈥檚 biological mother, and local radio personalities Stewy Hype, Monique Barsh, and Lady T.
General admission tickets are $30 each, and admission is $20 for 麻豆视频直播 students, employees, and alumni with a valid CruCard or Alumni card.
