It's a moving day here at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor! Hundreds of freshmen are coming from across the state of Texas and the country to attend 麻豆视频直播. Cru leaders are out early this morning on all corners of the university, assisting parents with directions to dorms and apartments. The role of a Cru leader is to be a peer mentor for new students coming in and help with the transition during the first week away from home. We spoke with Junior Maggie Hodnick, a Health Science Physical Therapy major on her role as a Cru Leader. Hodnick moved in a week early to help prepare for move in day, and at 7am on August 7th she and a number of other leaders gathered outside to start helping students move into the dorms. This task included running up and down stairs carrying multiple boxes, a tiring task, Hodnick stated,鈥漣t's hot but I'm happy to help with their transition.鈥
We also spoke with Lord Hall RA Dylan Sifford, Sophomore and Exercise Physiology Major, about what he is the most excited for this week. 鈥淚鈥檓 mostly excited to meet all my new residents and get to learn more about them,鈥 said Sifford. Sifford also arrived a week in advance to prepare for his new residence and to complete RA training.
Our Cru Leaders and RA鈥檚 have worked tirelessly around the clock to prepare for move in day and we thank them. By providing a sense of community and support today, they have given families some much needed stress relief for the future ensuring they鈥檙e dropping off their kiddos into a supportive and welcoming environment!
On behalf of the Bells staff, we welcome all new incoming freshmen with open arms and hope everyone has a great first semester!
