Dual Credit
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is pleased to offer selected college-level classes to local high schools and home schools for dual credit purposes. Dual Credit courses at Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ provide high school students with the opportunity to not only get a head start on college-level coursework but also provide them with the unique opportunity to gain the true college experience before graduation. All classes are taught by Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ professors on the Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ campus. Students will enjoy interactions with Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ college students in the classroom and around the campus.
Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- to Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ as a dual credit student
- an official *ACT or SAT Score report - may be submitted on an official transcript from your high school
- the Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ provided advising form signed by your HS counselor approving enrollment in dual credit courses
- complete all documentation for admission prior to registering for courses at Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥
Dual Credit students must:
- Attend Belton High School, Belton New Tech High, Temple High School, Providence Preparatory School, Holy Trinity High School or attend an area homeschool.
- have satisfied high school sophomore year requirement.
- The student must:
- Rank in the top half of their high school graduating class with no ACT or SAT score required, OR
- Rank in the lower half of their high school graduating class and score a minimum SAT of 1070 or minimum ACT of 21, OR
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- have approval from your school to enroll in dual credit courses
- Individual courses may have additional requirements for enrollment.
ACT Residual Exams:
- ACT Residual Exams can be taken on the Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥ campus at the cost of $70.
- Residual exam scores are used only by Â鶹ÊÓƵֱ²¥.
